East Vail

Possibly the most alpine and intimate of the area's communities, East Vail hugs the Gore Range at the base of Vail Pass. Strictly a residential neighborhood, it is a favorite with longtime locals and second-home owners. The appeal of East Vail is easy to understand - snow blankets its forests in winter, the tip of the valley frames awe inspiring Gore Range views and the summers erupt with spectacular wildflowers and rushing waterfalls. The cold, snowy winter may linger a little longer than in most of the valley, but the blossoms brought forth by spring are a sweet reward. Some say that when you live in East Vail, you know you're in the mountains. East Vail is an easy stopping point for visiting front range skiers on their way to the slopes and the free Town of Vail bus system makes commuting to Vail a snap.
