The snow gods have been smiling lately and have dumped more great snow here in the Vail Valley!? Beaver Creek is reporting a total of 230" thus far this year, with 26" arriving in the past week.? That makes for fantastic skiing, as all the smiling locals and vacationers can attest.? Those that I talked to said they had knee deep powder and very few folks on the hill.? Sounds about ideal.
Vail is reporting a total snowfall year-to-date of 247", with 29" falling from the sky within the past 7 days.? And a recent article in the Daily Mountaineer reports that the water content of the snowpack is significantly above average, coming in at 128% of the statistical average.? That's good news for the upcoming summer, as long as we continue to be blessed with the white gold we crave.? So let's be thankful for how great the skiing is today, and hope the "snow-powers-that-be" keep sharing their wealth.
And lest we get cocky, please continue to do your snow dances!!
